You're still waiting for your chariot To come around the carousel And take you to where you're supposed to be To some cocoon where you can come to be The cosmopolitan; someone everybody has time for Just because you're YOU And just because you read from the script that they gave you There's NO max amount of how many times you CAN repeat At higher volumes, a broken record NO MAX AMOUNT of caped crime-fighting you can do NO MAX AMOUNT to how much you can jump at nothing But half-truths and hysteria There's no max amount to just how lost you can get now. If you think you found magic, it'll saw you in half Within its grasp And when you're pulled apart they'll tell ya to walk it off You can walk it off, right? Oh here it goes... Putting one foot in front of the other.... Just legs and blue jeans now... They run to you without a head (in the opposite direction of it) NO max amount of how many times you CAN repeat At higher volumes, a broken record NO MAX AMOUNT of caped crime-fighting you can do NO MAX AMOUNT to how much you can jump at nothing But half-truths and hysteria There's no max amount to just how lost you can get now. We could use a little more critical curiosity about our absolute certainties

Dandelions trying hard to look like daisies for you They show their colors for a while, but ya hate what they turn into Because the flowers turn to fuzz and just spread Every kid makes a wish on them I guess they've never heard of 11:11 I'm wishin on a falling star that will ultimately crash & burn Cosmic dust like all of us are, existing in a blur She says, "It's DYSFUNCTIONAL, it's ANTI-SOCIAL! I'm sick of seeing you like this Just hiding behind BEDROOM BLINDS like ya do Is that your move?" ....yeah that's my move... 'Cuz yeah, I've got some feelings in here They overwhelm my good taste when they want to And I just beg them, "Please don't throw me in the lake of regrets!!" *Splash* I'm learning how to swim in it though And waterproofing the best I know how All vacuum-sealed up in the cellophane of "Everything will be OK" Regrets haunt you to your grave, some get carved into the gravestones too Regrets can cost you your chest if that's where you let 'em rest I entered this world / WITH THE RAIN / and found a train / that i could take: The Cynic Express / I CAN'T HAVE FUN / with the things / that everyone / else seems to love

All Wound Up 04:11
i'm still here - in the rest of the world blowing out my candles with each year still wrestling these safety nets today -- rematch! this time it's personal; they've had me trapped Like a fly in a web - to buzz in place til killed by spider hands been down just like the life got kicked out of me seeing greyscale everything can't get me off the ground i'm weighted down by all the haze that surrounds but if gravity cooperates with me my shoulders might not feel so damn heavy a thousand pounds a piece - man, i ain't Hercules here guess Mount Olympus can wait til I'm All wound up to go any direction All wound up to go All wound up to go any direction All wound up to go it takes forever to feel at home in a run down rental why settle down when the earth itself won't its fault lines shake us still but since when have earthquakes even woke us up we don't feel enough we just curl up next to rubble when they're done and our foundation is just junk now those puzzlecuts made in the blindness of love are just cracks in the floor where it can't support the frame we built anymore but if gravity cooperates with me my shoulders might not feel so damn heavy a thousand pounds a piece - man, i ain't Hercules here guess Mount Olympus can wait til I'm All wound up to go any direction All wound up to go All wound up to go any direction All wound up to go

You can discipline the simian all you want But it won't ever speak your language. And no amount of talk talk talk can change What it'll take to learn a lesson. I made you such an angel, oh that halo effect It stretched as far as it would go now To a monkey with a head that's full of mush I'm just a monkey with a head full of mush now... You wave your goodbyes like they're magic wands Nothing really disappears It just gets blurry in your drunken haze Kill the bottle, black out, and pull the drapes What did you really escape? That's when I put our remaining flame Right up to the gasoline tank To ignite again or just go way Sky high into lethal rain Turn the rest to lethal rain Coming down on this damn city What a pity, what a shame.... Give no chase, replace whatever we once were Pass go, collect 200 dollars You'll go 'round n 'round that circle again -- I won't bear the burden of caring. Three cheers for the sooner we move on That's the sooner we feel better Better than wasting our precious time just trying To put a Humpty Dumpty back together And my love is MINE - I pay all its bills So it bends to my will. It comes from me, so it only makes sense That I could take it back again Excuse me while I take it back again.... That's when I put our remaining flame Right up to the gasoline tank To ignite again or just go way Sky high into lethal rain Turn the rest to lethal rain Coming down on this damn city What a pity, what a shame.

No natural bridge between this world & me I am an island and I floated out of reach A no man's land between this world and me Merrily merrily merrily, life is but a screen I am an island, I floated out of reach Living off the scraps that wash up on the beach But I get the sun I'm in the sun What about you? What do you trust? Well you can trust in wanderlust and pixie dust To show you answers yeah, if you just land somewhere foreign Where your problems aren't even pronouncable Yet still they seem to follow you wherever you go... Just now you're driving on the wrong side of the road. Air-headed tourist leech living overseas again And driving on the wrong side of the road. Reclusive habits, they are slowly building up Until your life boils down to them and they're kinda who you are now. Reclusive habits slowly building up Til they're all that's left and they're kinda who you are now They're kind of who you are. And it's a crime against my own humanity To always be content with the easiest dopamine My biggest problem is apathy............... But who cares? No natural bridge between this world and me A no man's land between this world and me (It hovers in between) I am an island and I floated out of reach.

I think about that Fight Club scene a lot where the strangers are joining in If you beat yourself up long enough I guess you draw an audience And I don't want to follow footsteps anymore in the shoes that I once wore Because I won't follow where you've taken me before. Brand new strings attached New tension, it pulls me back I'm hanging in free-falls by the strings attached Over your abyss, this new nothingness That mocks any meaning I give it. Like a broken toy you once electrified You know it's got that stupid look of hope still painted on its eyes. Tangled up, have we not struggled enough? Tangled up until we learn to cut the brand new strings We're gonna try to fill it up & fail. MONOLOGUE: yes friends, our hero once again has been punished by the plot. whatever was forming has now been cremated shapeless. the echoes of what were are the only thing left to be heard - and he hears them with his five senses each and every sense still HEARS them as together, we wait for the echoes to fade. but behold, all is not lost.... he still uses her netflix.

Well the world ate its own sub-sandwich, now we just get the crumbs. We get the crumbs. Hey kid, do ya want to be heard? If you want your words to be heard, gotta get knees to jerk. It's all reaction-based - just follow the hype & fan the flames Of any fire that burns. Because context don't matter, perspective don't matter anymore As long as there's war, you can be a warrior And all your cigarettes will burn The already-toxic air between us made worse At our ground zero Blowing smoke in the face of Dependence on anything -- besides the nicotine You could let it kill you Feet stepped in the wrong shoes, running someone else's race Hey hey hey You could let it kill you That comfort eagle's claw carries you like you're afraid to be Free free free You want to feel like you are A firework shining in the dark Bursting with sparks Yeah, you know how to spark But you never thought about all the fuel That pooled up around you So why not go get married & watch each other grow into our XXLs? And get bored as hell You can get fat, I can get forty And we can get so damn boring And you could let it kill you Feet stepped in the wrong shoes, running someone else's race Hey hey hey You could let it kill you That comfort eagle's claw carries you like you're afraid to be Free free free

Sometimes rational people can't get rid of their fleas And they scratch until they bleed Possessed by ideology - they roll their eyes infinitely And protect it as their personal identity You stamp yourself with a branding iron and say "I proooomise, I'm this thing!" and so you are The self-fulfilling prophecy to fuel a herd mentality Another crime against your own humanity, you know it is. On the backburner it sizzled So used to that sizzle sound Catches fire when you forget it By then it's already done Guess we were already done Guess we were already done Guess we were already done Now crows are starting to come.... If you only hear the loudest voices know They're usually the drunk ones, yeah they're drunk On whatever they're supposed to drink So they think what they're supposed to think Ideologues don't have your remedy Don't let them drive you anywhere. Don't let them drive you. Let's get back on top From the bottom with the teardrops And all the darker blues That the waves washed up with someone's cement shoes Weighted down by what they stepped into Trust your balance to those cement shoes and they won't do a a thing but sink you. And get back on top From the bottom with the teardrops And all the darker blues The waves washed up with someone's cement shoes

With strong glasses, you can see a speck of light waits at the end of the tunnel you've been crawling in There's no shortcuts, you have to ride it out Gotta move through all the doubts And see the world for its underground when that's all you feel But those feelings belong to the waves You can't change how fast the world rotates. They belong to the waves & lunar phases Go throw rocks at the moon Sometimes that's all that you can do And you believed the world that you once held Was nothing but a shell You gave an inch to the dread you felt And it dunked on you Like MJ in '93 You're sprawled out underneath Wondering how you'll ever feel complete Those feelings belong to the waves You can't change how fast the world rotates. They belong to the waves & lunar phases Go throw rocks at the moon Sometimes that's all that you can do Just remember We're gonna get through this We're gonna be victorious We're gonna make it back home We're gonna know we're not alone Let's recap: We're gonna get through this We're gonna be victorious We're gonna make it back home We're gonna know we're not alone
